A coffee festival held at Puron-chan Park (Shinsui Central Park) in Hitachinaka City, Ibaraki Prefecture.
Roasters drawing attention from across Japan will gather, with around 120 booths making it one of the largest coffee events in the country. Vendors from overseas will also take part. This year, Starbucks will host a pairing event combining coffee with Hitachinaka's local specialty, roasted sweet potato (hoshiimo), which should be an intriguing combination. Music by DJs will run across both days, and on the first day starting at 5 p.m., a night movie screening of the musical film "Annie" will be projected onto a large outdoor screen.
Admission is free, and well-behaved pets are welcome. There is no dedicated parking at the venue, so please plan to use public transportation or the shuttle buses running from the municipal parking lots around Katsuta Station. Add it to your autumn plans and come find your favorite cup in the park.
